Research for Film Opening

For our film opening one of our groups idea's is for the scene to be set in the year of 1950. For this I have researched into the fashion, and have drawn out some of what I had found, which could help us for when we think about the fashion we will need for our film opening.

First of all I had looked into the colours of what they had used which were mostly quite bright and pale colours like reds, violets, blues, greens and oranges, and as I looked further into it I came across a lot of these type of outfits that are in the picture below.

Secondly, I had found that all the shoes were very similar for young girls, they were all usually plain black or brown dolly shoes complimented by a bright white pair of frilled socks, these were usually worn to add the nice, cute and innocent affect, which in our film we are going for with the main characters being young and emphasising the innocence of her.

Both before and after I had looked into the clothes I kept coming across the same patterns over and over with this being mainly polka dot and stripes, main red followed by black, pink, blue and green. I had also come across checkered patterns which were either striped checks or filled checked material.
